The Edinburgh Festival
September 7th, 2006
During the month of August, Edinburgh is overtaken by the celebrations of the Edinburgh Festival. Streets are overrun by actors, buskers, dancers, comedians and, of course, tourists enjoying the revelry. The Festival itself sees established theatre, dance and music companies performing in the city’s main theatres; while the Fringe invites more left-field companies to perform. In recent years, the Fringe has become a particularly important launching pad for young, up-and-coming comedians. The Edinburgh Festival truly is a citywide celebration, and with such a variety of acts, visitors of all tastes are guaranteed to be kept entertained.
