This area is located on the other side of the Main river is known
for its cider and the half timbered houses. Although its not as
nice as it once was, this district still has lots to offer, like
the posh houses on the bank of the River Maine, cool pubs such
as the Stereo Bar, and posh boutiques on Schweizer Strasse and
arts and culture can be found at Museumsufer where several museums
are located.
Westend:
located among the skyscrapers and tower blocks, where all the banks
and Corporations are situated. This area was home to squatters and
students way back in the 70’s demonstrating against the destruction
of the old buildings to make way for skyscrapers. Nowadays the locals
living in their penthouses go jogging in Gruneburg Park or chill
out in Palm garden. What’s worth a visit is the recently restored
Synagogue, the IG- Farben Haus and the Alte Oper.
