The attractive streets and beautiful 19th century houses has made this area the most densely populated residential area in the city and there are loads of bars and smaller shops also. The student population has moved in next to the wealthy bankers of the area to create a nice atmosphere for the area. The locals spend their evenings dining in Greek, Turkish, Italian or German restaurants in the district or even in bars such as Harveys or Kasimir

What was once the working class down and out spot is now the posh sought after residential area. The district has ornate villas and lots of culture and entertainment possibilities. The writers group would meet in the Romanfabrik, while the student crowd would meet in the Loft House. Advertising agencies and businesses involved in the film industry have transformed the old warehouses into a lively hub of activity.
